The Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) has expanded its senior management team with the appointment of a new Senior Director of Market Development.
Suzanne Falvi has been appointed AEMC’s new Senior Director of Market Development, having previously been a Senior Lawyer in the AEMC’s Legal team and acting in a Senior Management team role since February 2016.
AEMC Chief Executive Anne Pearson said, “Suzanne has been a highly valued member of the AEMC for a number of years and has made an extremely smooth transition into the policy and leadership space.”
Before joining the AEMC, Ms Falvi worked in the ACT Environment and Sustainable Development Directorate’s energy division.
Ms Falvi was involved in the ACT’s implementation of the National Energy Customer Framework and in developing local renewable energy and energy efficiency schemes.
Prior to that, Ms Falvi specialised in competition and public law advice work and litigation for Minter Ellison, and worked in-house for a renewable start-up managing intellectual property issues and navigating energy legislation.
“Her experience in the government and retail sectors, coupled with her legal background and economics degree, will serve Suzanne well in her new position,” Ms Pearson said.
