AGL has launched a new offer for owners of electric vehicles (EV), accelerating its move into the growing electric vehicle (EV) market.

AGL Chief Customer Officer, Christine Corbett, said the new electricity plan would provide eligible customers with bonus credits over the two year period of the plan.

“This new plan allows our customers to make the most of their investment in electric vehicles while taking the pressure off their running costs and the environment,” Ms Corbett said.

“The new plan provides flexibility for customers who value fixed rates, the inclusion of carbon offsets and the peace of mind that vehicles can be charged at any time of the day.

“The plan also builds on the knowledge gained from our world-leading Electric Car Plan trial, which allowed us to learn more about the needs of EV owners.

“We ran workshops with EV owners to develop the new proposition and it became clear that flexibility and offsetting carbon emissions were key requirements.

“Certified carbon offset programs allow customers to offset their household electricity emissions, including when they charge their car at home.”

Ms Corbett said the new plan was consistent with AGL’s growth strategy and reflected the company’s focus on creating opportunities to connect with customers in an emerging electrified world.
