AMS Water Metering has achieved WaterMark certification for the Qalcosonic W1 Australian Utility Version smart ultrasonic water meter.
Along with the NMI R49 metrology approval, AS3565.1 water meter approval, and AS4020 drinking water approval, the WaterMark approval now means that the meter is fully certified for supply into the Australian water utility market.
The Qalcosonic W1 Australian Utility Version is assembled in the Melbourne facility of AMS Water Metering using the innovative Qalcosonic W1 smart ultrasonic water meter, manufactured by Axioma Metering in Lithuania. AMS Water Metering fits brass threaded adapters, a dual check valve and copper conducting strip to the Qalcosonic W1 to produce the Australian Utility Version which meets the requirements of the Australian water utility market for end-to-end length, dual check valves and electrical conductivity.
The Qalcosonic W1 is a compact, fully integrated smart ultrasonic water meter with a one-piece moulded composite plastic body with an IP68 rating. The ultrasonic measuring technology has no moving parts and maintains very high accuracy throughout the life of the meter. It is available with fully integrated LoRaWAN or NBIoT communication protocols and the battery life is up to 16 years. The LoRaWAN version has RCM approval, while the NBIoT version will shortly have RCM approval.
AMS Water Metering is part of the Kuiper Group, which also includes AMS Instrumentation & Calibration and Trimec Flow Products. With an ISO9001:2015 certified facility located in Boronia, Melbourne, and over 50 years’ of experience supplying flow metering, instrumentation and calibration products, the Kuiper Group is well respected in the Australian market and already works with many of the largest water utilities in Australia.
Axioma Metering has been manufacturing ultrasonic water meters for over 30 years and has a state-of-the-art fully integrated manufacturing facility in Kaunas, Lithuania, which is dedicated to the manufacture of the Qalcosonic W1 smart ultrasonic water meters. The facility is fully automated and vertically integrated with injection moulding, circuit board manufacture, robotic assembly. Every meter is fully tested and calibrated in-house.
In addition to the Australian Utility Version of the Qalcosonic W1, AMS Water Metering also supplies the full range of Qalcosonic W1 ultrasonic water meters for sub-metering, commercial and industrial use, and the range of Qalcosonic F1 IP68 brass bodied ultrasonic meters with pulse output and sizes up to DN100.
