APPEA has appointed an experienced government relations professional to join its Canberra office in the new position of Director – Federal Government Relations in 2018.
APPEA Chief Executive, Malcolm Roberts, said the company was delighted to recruit Ashley Wells to the key role.
“Ashley Wells has been a policy adviser to senior shadow ministers and a director with a prominent national public affairs company,” Mr Roberts said.
“For the last five years, Ashley has been policy director at the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries.
“Mr Wells will bring to the APPEA team policy insight and many years of experience representing Australian industry.”
Mr Wells said he was excited to begin a new stage in his career.
“I look forward to joining the APPEA team at a challenging time for this critically important industry and working on the many issues ahead,” Mr Wells said.
“It’s a great privilege to join APPEA as it charts the industry’s path forward.”
