The Australian Association of Graduate Employers has released new rankings for Australia’s top graduate employers, with Transgrid ranking in second place, Sydney Water in fourth, nbn co in sixth and SA Power Networks coming in eight place among businesses with a medium-scale graduate program.
The aim of the Top Graduate Employers list is to recognise those organisations that provide the most positive experience for their new graduates as determined by graduates themselves.
SA Power Networks manages the distribution network that delivers electricity to approximately 1.7 million South Australians and is leading South Australia’s rapid transition to a 100 per cent renewable energy system.
A total of 18 graduates have commenced in SA Power Networks’ 2024 intake, undertaking a comprehensive induction program rotating through various business units.
SA Power Networks Head of Corporate Affairs, Paul Roberts, said that the company is at the leading edge internationally in managing the energy transition and that it is focused on innovation that provides benefits for customers and community.
“In March we will commence a targeted promotional campaign for our next graduate intake in 2025,” Mr Roberts said.
“Almost all of the graduates who have gone through our program have stayed on with us to carve out a career in electricity distribution.
“Our graduates tell us that the number of rotations they have during the graduate program and their exposure to innovative projects give them a breadth of experience they simply can’t get anywhere else in South Australia.
“Our high retention rate and low staff turnover overall, show that people in the business enjoy the work they do, the development opportunities that are provided and the strong and supportive culture we have.”
