The Australian Water Association (AWA) have launched a national survey to better understand the needs and challenges of sustainable water management.
AWA is teaming up with Arup to run the Future of Water survey, which is open to all Australians.
The survey to inform the water sector of what matters most to Australians and help shape the direction of a sustainable water future.
AWA Chief Executive, Corinne Cheeseman, said “Water is our greatest natural resource – extreme weather, increasing populations and growing competition for water resources means that the sustainable management of our water is now more important than ever.”
“We know that how people and communities value and connect with water is varied, and the future of our sector depends on us being able to balance competing needs and solve complex challenges in a way that supports cohesive, equitable and inclusive engagement with communities.”
“The Future of Water survey aims to provide insights into this national perspective and allow us to compare and contrast views across geographies, cultural backgrounds, industries and demographics.
“It will capture people’s connection to water; their concerns, their thoughts on the opportunities, and who they think is best placed to lead the response.”
Preliminary findings will be co-presented by AWA and Arup at Ozwater’22 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday 11 May at 12:25pm in the Exhibition Theatrette.
The survey closes on 17 May.
