Beyond service delivery, Programmed helps build environments that foster connection, and support workforce morale in remote operations.
At 29Metals’ Golden Grove site, Programmed recently transformed a remote mining village into a vibrant international food festival, demonstrating how hospitality and community spirit can enhance FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) life in the resources sector.

Held over two evenings, the annual Foodie Feast brought together residents, site teams, and Programmed staff under the stars to enjoy flavours from around the globe. From Japanese street food to Mediterranean favourites, hearty Italian fare and indulgent desserts, the diverse menu was curated by Programmed’s Culinary Team and served alongside live acoustic music, creating a warm, festive atmosphere in the heart of Western Australia’s Mid-West.
This isn’t just about good food. Events like these reflect Programmed’s commitment to improving the day-to-day experience of workers on site. Beyond service delivery, Programmed helps build environments that foster connection, care, and a sense of belonging, essential factors in supporting workforce morale and retention in remote operations.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive from both 29Metals and village residents, with comments like “the food is incredible” and “thank you for creating this event.”
These responses highlight the true value of going beyond the basics, creating memorable moments that make time away from home more enjoyable.
Programmed’s team supports every stage of the FIFO journey, from airport transfers to on-site comfort and cleanliness, ensuring high standards are met with a personal touch. Special thanks go to Amanda Pickering, Cheryl Prentice, and the entire culinary and site teams whose passion and care brought this celebration to life.
For Programmed, it’s another reminder that even in the most remote locations, a little creativity and a lot of heart can make a significant impact.
