Central Coast Council has committed to rolling out upgrade and expansion works across its sewerage network over the next four years, including an $11 million region-wide project to renew targeted gravity sewer infrastructure.
Like all infrastructure, sewer pump stations will intermittently require repair. The council is investing in this service for the community to ensure reliable sewer services and minimise the risk of odour-related issues and sewer overflows, which can put customers and the environment at risk.
The council actively monitors and tests the effectiveness of sewer pump stations across the coast and these results indicate which stations are due for maintenance. It has recently completed an upgrade to Budgewoi’s Sewer Pump Station on Sonoma Road.
Other works underway include:
- Upgrade of The Entrance’s Sewer Pump Station on Boondilla Road
- Upgrade works at three sewer pump stations in the Toukley area
- A rehabilitation program across the Central Coast involving relining existing sewer pipes with a new structural lining, which doesn’t disrupt services during works, to extend the life of the pipes by 50 years
