Seqwater has awarded a construction contract for the upgrade of the Lake Macdonald (Six Mile Creek) Dam, Noosa.
John Holland Group Queensland was chosen to deliver the contract.
The upgrade is designed to enhance water security and enable the dam to withstand extreme weather events as part of Seqwater’s Dam Improvement Program.
The project involves building a new split-level concrete spillway and upper labyrinth and reconstructing the existing earth embankments.
Major site construction activities will commence in 2024.
