Icon Water has completed a wall upgrade of the Corin Dam in the ACT to enhance its structural integrity.

The Corin Dam wall upgrade works also involved upgrading the access road across the dam’s crest. The project began in October 2015 and was completed at the start of May 2016.

Corin Dam, Corin Road past Square Rock car park and Stockyard Spur walking track are all now accessible again by the public.

Icon Water General Manager Project Delivery, Operations and Maintenance Ray Hezkial acknowledged that the project had been undertaken in a complicated environment.

“We’re very proud to have safely and effectively upgraded Corin Dam ahead of schedule and within budget.

“This was always going to be a complex project by virtue of the dam’s remote location and the fact that works were undertaken within an active water supply catchment requiring careful management of dam levels.

“We welcome back the Canberra Community to Corin Dam and hope they continue to enjoy the site and its facilities,” Mr Hezkial said.
