Early investigations, including geotechnical work, have begun for a proposed upgrade of Cooloolabin Dam in Queensland.

The geotechnical investigations involve the use of drilling rigs and excavators and some machinery and drilling noise can be expected while the works are underway.

During the works, there will be a partial road closure for 1 to 2 days on Cooloolabin Road near Buckby Road. Traffic controls will be in place to ensure the safety of motorists and staff working on site.

This work is not expected to disrupt water supply.

Seqwater appreciates and thanks the local community for their patience and understanding during this important project. Every effort will be made by the Seqwater project team and the contractor to reduce noise and community disruption as a result of the works.

Cooloolabin Dam is located approximately 5 kilometres from Yandina, across Rocky Creek in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The dam provides drinking water to the surrounding area. The dam was completed in 1979. This work is part of Seqwater’s ongoing dam safety management program.
