Following its appointment to deliver a new $600 million contract on behalf of Unitywater in South East Queensland, Downer is currently recruiting for roles ranging from project management and controls; finance and contracts management; stakeholder engagement; health, safety, environment and quality; and administration.
The new recruits will support the implementation and delivery of the two work programs Downer’s Water business will be responsible for delivering over the initial five-year term.
The programs include capital works for Unitywater’s water, sewerage and recycled water networks within the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay regions, as well as works across Unitywater’s 17 sewerage treatment plants in the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Moreton Bay regions.
Downer’s Executive General Manager Water, Neal Firth, said that the new contract offered a unique opportunity to join a stable, long-term program and play a role in setting it up for success.
“Combined with the tangible benefits of working with one of Australia’s largest employers and a leadership team focussed on bringing the best in global thinking and innovation to each one of our projects, joining Downer is an attractive option for anyone looking to make a difference and forge a career with a Tier 1 services provider,” Mr Firth said.
“As a fully integrated trans-Tasman business, it means that our teams work closely with colleagues across Australia and New Zealand and can also bring their expertise and ideas to projects in other regions.
“I’d like to personally welcome everyone who will be joining Downer on this new contract in the coming months. With mobilisation underway, I look forward to the delivery of another safe and successful contract for our client Unitywater.”
