Endeavour Energy has announced its incoming Independent Chair following Robert Webster stepping down from the role in June 2023, after six years with the business.

He will be succeeded by incoming Independent Chair, Ms Cheryl Bart AO, a highly experienced chair and non-executive director of government and private sector organisations, with strong experience in energy, renewables and infrastructure, and broad experience across financial services, utilities, media, defence, sport and major events sectors. Ms Bart’s appointment will commence on 6 June 2023.

Ms Bart is currently Chair of Tilt Renewables and TEDxSydney and a non-executive director of SG Fleet ltd, Audio Pixels, Shaw of Australia and the Moriah Foundation and has previously held director roles with SA Power Networks and Spark Infrastructure, among others.

Speaking about her appointment, Ms Bart said she was pleased to be joining such a strong and reputable organisation.

“Endeavour Energy is a leading and trusted supplier of affordable, safe and reliable electricity to over 2.7 million people living and working in Sydney’s Greater West, the Blue Mountains, the Southern Highlands, Illawarra and the South Coast of New South Wales,” Ms Bart said.

“The business is positioned at the heart of Sydney’s burgeoning growth, with a new city and mega infrastructure being built in Western Sydney. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work alongside both the board and the executive team to continue to drive sustainable growth as Endeavour Energy drives the transition to a renewable future.”

Endeavour Energy CEO, Guy Chalkley, welcomed Ms Bart to the role and thanked Mr Webster for his contribution to the organisation.

“Robert joined Endeavour Energy in 2017 as our inaugural Independent Chair, following the New South Wales Government’s long-term lease of its electricity assets,” Mr Chalkley said.

“Throughout the years he has overseen the transformation of Endeavour Energy into a customer obsessed, industry leading energy solutions provider focused on driving sustainable growth.

“As a veteran of the industry, Robert has left an enduring mark on the business and I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank him for his long-standing support of and commitment to the business and his leadership of the Board and guidance to the executive team.”
