Endeavour Energy has commissioned several critical components that will form the backbone of the power supply into the Western Sydney Aerotropolis and surrounding precincts.
As one of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects, a secure and reliable electricity supply is crucial for the Aerotropolis – which Endeavour Energy said is set to become a thriving economic centre contributing 200,000 new high skills jobs across sectors like aerospace and defence, manufacturing, healthcare, freight and logistics, agribusiness, education and research industries.
Endeavour Energy’s key milestones include:
- Installation of 30km of underground 132kV feeders to bring power to the area
- Construction of the 120MVA Western Sydney Airport Transmission Substation, designed with flexibility to scale with the airport’s future growth
- Construction of the 132kV Orchard Hills Switching Station, ensuring power supply for the Sydney Metro
- Augmentation of major zone substations at Bringelly and South Erskine Park to support the expansion
In a LinkedIn post on 17 December 2024, Endeavour Energy congratulated its dedicated team members who are helping to fuel the economic growth of Western Sydney, one of Australia’s most significant emerging economies.
