Endeavour Energy has announced the appointment of a new CEO.

Endeavour Energy’s Independent Chairman, Robert Webster, announced the appointment of Tony Narvaez as CEO, effective Tuesday 15 August 2017.

“The Board is delighted to welcome Tony to lead Endeavour Energy’s transition into a world class electricity distributor,” Mr Webster said.

“Tony joins us from Victoria’s United Energy and Multinet Gas, where he has been the CEO since 2015. Under his leadership, United Energy was benchmarked amongst the best performing distributors in Australia.

“He brings impressive leadership skills and a wealth of executive experience in the Australian energy sector, gained in senior executive roles at General Electric, ATCO and Verve Energy, spanning strategy, business development, commercial, operations, major projects and joint ventures in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Asia.”

Mr Webster said Mr Narvaez brings the capability and experience to shape safety and customer outcomes through efficient investment and growth opportunities across Sydney’s Greater West.

“A safe, reliable and affordable electricity supply is essential to maintaining the lifestyle of Endeavour Energy’s 980,000 customers and the prosperity of some of Australia’s largest and fastest growing economies,” Mr Webster said.

“He arrives at an exciting time in Endeavour Energy’s history, just eight weeks after Endeavour Energy’s majority ownership successfully transitioned to an Australian-led consortium of long-term institutional investors with international experience in running top-performing utilities.”

Mr Narvaez’s appointment also coincides with an intense planning period for Endeavour Energy, as it seeks customers’ views on its 2019-2024 plans, due to the Australian Energy Regulator in January 2018.

“Endeavour Energy has a powerful base to work from as regulatory, market and technological developments unfold. I think the business has huge potential and I’m looking forward to capitalising on its strong capabilities and working with great people,” Mr Narvaez said.

Mr Narvaez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Economics, a Diploma in Financial Services (Energy Trading) and completed executive studies at Harvard Business School.

“I am also pleased to confirm that Rod Howard will continue in the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer, having guided Endeavour Energy through a successful transaction process as Acting CEO,” Mr Webster said.
