EnergyAustralia is narrowing in on its acquisition of Echo Group, a solar and LED lighting company, which is dependent on Foreign Investment Review Board approval.

EnergyAustralia Chief Customer Officer, Mark Collette, said the purchase forms part of EnergyAustralia’s commitment to offering customers affordable energy solutions.

“Since acquiring 49 per cent almost a year ago, Echo Group has demonstrated that they are leaders in solar and energy-efficient technologies.

“We’re excited to continue our joint work of supplying businesses and households with energy products and services that save money.”

Echo Group will continue to operate under its local brand offerings: ‘Cherry Energy Solutions’, ‘Eko Energy’ and ‘Littil LED’.

The business was established in 2012 with four employees and three warehouses in a suburban park. Echo has since grown to a 70-plus person operation, including an in-house solar and LED installation team based in Melbourne’s south-east.

In total, Echo has installed more than one million LED lights and completed thousands of solar installations.
