Epic Energy has recently completed restoration of the Port Pirie lateral pipeline (SA), with ongoing maintenance currently underway.
Equipment from Germany will be used to undertake detailed internal inspection and testing of the 73-kilometre pipeline.
The process involves isolating and removing the gas from the pipeline, filling it with water, running a special tool through it to take measurements, removing the water and drying the pipe before reinstating gas flows.
The information obtained will help inform Epic Energy SA’s future pipeline management program, aimed at restoration of full operating pressure for the pipeline.
