Sydney Water’s Innovation Festival
October 18 - October 20Free
Sydney Water’s Innovation Festival is an inaugural event bringing together customers, community, academia, government, industry partners and key stakeholders to generate new ideas and solve key challenges.
The three-day festival will be hosted online with headquarters at Customs House in the City of Sydney, an iconic landmark in the area. As a twin event with Northumbrian Water’s Innovation Festival, sponsors will gain international exposure, particularly in the United Kingdom.
Bringing together a diverse range of businesses, organisations and academia, the festival will tackle some of the toughest societal and environmental problems using the best of digital platforms and tools. The key focus is innovation and will be mashed up with the fun of a ‘virtual spring festival’ to inspire fresh ideas and create tangible outputs.
The event will include targeted activities such as a marketplace, design spirits (online and in-person), hackathons (online), showcases, start-up pitches, debates and inspirational speakers.
The innovation themes are:
- Amplifying the voices of Aboriginal peoples
- Circular economy
- Water security
- Smart cities
- Customer experience
Senior managers from Sydney Water, City Councils, New South Wales Government, Academic Institutions and members of the general public will be in attendance.
Speakers and panelists include Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, Craig Reucassel, Phil Duncan, Elle Davidson, Catherine Caruana-McManus and Professor Hugh Durrant-Whyte.
