Murrumbidgee Irrigation Limited (MI) is seeking expressions of interest for the design and construction of civil works for large-scale open channel irrigation systems.

MI has received $85 million in funding under round three of the Australian Government’s Private Irrigation Infrastructure Operators Program (PIIOP) in New South Wales to undertake water infrastructure modernisation projects in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA).

These projects include the automation of MI’s delivery infrastructure to help to meet the challenges for improving irrigation system delivery efficiency, enhance service delivery and flexibility to meet changing commodity demands, and deliver environmental benefits that address the Australian Government’s water priorities.

The scope of these projects includes the automation of regulator, escape and offtake structures over nominated sections of MI’s canal network.

Expressions of Interest close 6 December 2016.
