Genex Power has announced the appointment of a new CFO following the announcement on 10 May 2023 that current CEO, James Harding, will be retiring, with his position to be filled by current CFO, Craig Francis, beginning 1 September.

Patrick McCarthy is set to commence as CFO on 16 October 2023.

Mr McCarthy is an experienced energy executive, having been involved in the renewable energy sector in Australia and the UK since 2009.

A chartered accountant, he has previously worked at Infigen Energy and Macquarie Asset Management, where he was involved in the acquisition of the Green Investment Bank by Macquarie Group and subsequently as head of finance for renewable energy investments.

Most recently, Mr McCarthy has worked at Brighte Energy and at Elgin Energy Australia.

Originally from Ireland, Mr McCarthy holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from University of Dublin and is a Chartered Tax Adviser with the Irish Taxation Institute.

Genex Independent Non-executive Chairman, Ralph Craven, said that Patrick brings a wealth of expertise in finance and renewables to Genex.

“Patrick will play a pivotal role in steering the financial operations of Genex, driving growth and capitalising on existing and emerging opportunities in the renewable energy generation and storage market.”
