Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) has announced the departure of its managing director, after five years in the position.
The Chair of GMW, Sarah Scales, announced that current Managing Director John Calleja was leaving the company.
Mr Calleja joined GMW in July 2011 with 15 years financial management and economic regulation experience across public and private sectors.
The GMW board has acknowledged Mr Calleja’s achievements over the last five years. These achievements include his role in transitioning the Connections Project and driving more than $12million in GMW business efficiencies.
Mr Calleja’s financial leadership and efficiency has allowed GMW to set water prices that are four per cent lower than forecast, and deliver a debt level that is $100million lower than forecast in its previous water plan.
The GMW board will appoint an Interim Managing Director in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the Chief Financial Officer, Geoff Cutter will act in the position.
