In the latest round of its Community Partnerships Program, Horizon Power has awarded $494,788 in funding to 52 local organisations and events throughout regional and remote Western Australia.
Since it began in 2020, the program has awarded almost $5 million to more than 490 initiatives.
The funding will contribute to numerous significant regional sporting and cultural events, while supporting grassroots organisations to build capacity and vibrancy in their communities.

Recipients of the latest round include the Broome-based Kimberley Arts Network, Kununurra’s Kangaroo Haven Wildlife Rescue Centre, the Exmouth Toy Library, the Rotary Club of Esperance, and the Karratha Junior Rugby League.
A range of events to be held in 2025, including Exmouth’s Ningaloo Sky Festival, the Ord Valley Muster, and the 2025 Horizon Power Floating Lantern Matsuri will also receive funding.
Through the Community Partnerships Program, $1.1 million is provided each financial year to support regional community initiatives and events.
Horizon Power CEO, Stephanie Unwin, said that Horizon Power is proud of its strong regional partnerships and the opportunity to support a range of initiatives that are enhancing and empowering communities in the regions it serves.
“From sporting events to cultural festivals, these unique grassroot initiatives are embraced by the communities across our entire service area, which covers the largest geographical catchment of any Australian energy provider,” Ms Unwin said.
“Our partnerships are focused on ensuring not-for-profits and other organisations can continue to deliver meaningful initiatives and events which are strengthening the fabric of their communities.”
Western Australia Energy Minister, Reece Whitby, said that the Community Partnerships Program is having a significant impact on supporting local events and initiatives in regional and remote communities across the state.
“It is great to see such enthusiasm for our Community Partnerships Program, which has contributed almost $5 million and supported more than 490 different initiatives across regional and remote Western Australia,” Mr Whitby said.
