Hunter Water has announced the appointment of a new Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective 22 July 2019.

Experienced water industry executive Graham Wood has accepted the position, with Hunter Water’s Chief Investment Officer, Darren Cleary, acting in the Chief Executive Officer role until Mr Wood’s term commences.

This follows the appointment of Jim Bentley (Hunter Water’s current Managing Director) as the NSW Government’s Chief Executive Officer – Water, with responsibility for metropolitan and regional water policy across NSW.

“I am pleased to be able to welcome Graham Wood to Hunter Water. Graham is an internationally experienced water executive, including his most recent role as the Chief Infrastructure Officer for Auckland’s water services provider, Watercare,” Hunter Water Chairman, Terry Lawler, said.

“Mr Wood is familiar with Hunter Water and our region, having worked closely with the organisation over the last 18 months helping to inform our strategy and direction.

“Hunter Water remains committed to its strategic direction, and I know that Graham shares the Board’s commitment to continue working with our communities to Love Water, appropriately respond to current drought conditions, improve our customer experience, continue reductions in network leakage, improve operational efficiencies and responsibly plan for our water future.”
