The NSW Government has issued a Planning Circular – Conditions of consent for fibre-ready facilities and telecommunications infrastructure, as part of improving telecommunication approvals processes during the states NBN rollout.
The Planning Circular advises local councils that all developments (unless exempted) should include conditions to ensure that modern telecommunications infrastructure is provided for all premises to be constructed in new developments.
nbn has been meeting with councils across Australia during 2017 to help streamline approvals processes for telecommunications infrastructure and to update on nbn responsibilities as more areas become part of the nbn broadband access network rollout area.
