The NSW Legislative Council have released a report which recommends the Government’s proposal to lease the infrastructure of 100 per cent of Transgrid and 50.4 per cent of each of Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy.
The committee believes that the Government’s proposal is in the best interest of the state, taking into account the state’s fiscal position, the need to maintain a triple-A credit rating and the economic benefits arising from the significant investment in infrastructure.
The overall report focuses on the ramifications of the proposed leasing, including implications on pricing and customers as well as responsibilities of lessees to maintain, improve and replace damaged or old infrastructure.
