Power and Water Corporation, in collaboration with the City of Darwin, is conducting power saving LED streetlight trials at two locations in Darwin’s Northern suburbs.
Power and Water is now seeking feedback from local residents and the general public as part of the final stage of the trial.
The new lights use approximately one third of the energy of the older technology streetlights.
The company reports that over the trial period there has been no drop in lighting level or increase in their power consumption and no maintenance requirements.
