Investing firm AEA Investors LP has signed an agreement to acquire the municipal, industrial and services water and wastewater treatment operations and assets of Siemens Water Technologies  for EUR 640 million.

AEA has an established track record of achieving superior returns as a leading private equity partner to middle market companies and has over 45 years of investing experience. This latest transaction is still awaiting regulatory approval.

The existing management of Siemens Water Technologies, under the leadership of CEO Dr. Lukas Loeffler, is committed to remain to ensure continuity of the ongoing successful integration and optimization of Water Technologies’ operations and assets while working with AEA investment professionals and operating partners. Siemens AG acquired the company in 2004 and will continue oversight until change of control anticipated to be within the next few months.

Under AEA, the company will continue focus on municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment equipment and services.

“We are excited to be partnering with one of the leaders in the global water industry and are supportive of management and their plan to continue to grow the business” said AEA Managing Partner Brian Hoesterey.

“We look forward to a new chapter of increased entrepreneurship, flexibility and growth for Water Technologies,” Loeffler said. “Together with AEA, we will continue building on our wide range of enduring brands and advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies to help our customers more cost-effectively meet their water needs now and in the future.”
