Engineering and construction company, McConnell Dowell, is encouraging interested subcontractors who want to participate in the construction of the NEGI pipeline to register on ICN Gateway.

McConnell Dowell was contracted by Jemena to build the North East Gas Interconnector (NEGI) Pipeline, and now they are seeking local suppliers and subcontractors for the project.

It is expected that the procurement packages associated with the construction works will be listed on the ICN Gateway in the second half of 2016.

The NEGI pipeline will connect the gas fields in the Northern Territory with customers in the Eastern Gas Market, and run between Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory and Mt Isa in Queensland.

The construction scope for this contract includes the 623km high pressure gas pipeline, two compressor stations and mid-line facilities.

The project is in the design, planning and development phase, with construction expected to commence in early 2017 and be completed by 2018.

Tenders will be listed on ICN Gateway in the coming months.
