A new Director of the TasWater Board has been appointed, effective March 2020.
Joanne Pearson will succeed Peter Lewinsky who has retired, and will also sit on both the Audit and Risk, and Environment and Public Health Committees.
With a background as a qualified accountant and experienced Chief Financial Officer, Joanne Pearson comes to TasWater with decades of experience in the utilities sector, sitting on various boards and executive committees.
Ms Pearson said she is committed to the ongoing success of TasWater and hopes her experience at both an executive and board level will add value to the organisation.
TasWater Chairman, Dr Stephen Gumley, welcomed Ms Pearson and said she would bring a great deal of knowledge and experience to the TasWater Board.
“Along with offering the board her experience in public sector and ASX-listed organisations, Ms Pearson brings significant understanding of governance and risk management, including through her role on the board of Westernport Water in Victoria,” Dr Gumley said.
“Ms Pearson’s skills and experience will be a great asset to TasWater.”
