EnergyAustralia has announced that Kate Gibson will step in as the new Chief Customer Officer, following the departure of Mark Brownfield, who has held the role since 2021.
Managing Director Mark Collette said in the six months since Ms Gibson joined the business as Chief Strategy and Project Management Officer, she has led the development of EnergyAustralia’s refreshed strategic roadmap.
“This strategy has positioned EnergyAustralia well to take on new heights that will make the transition easier for customers and deliver consistent and strong performance for our shareholders,” Mr Collette said.
“Kate’s passion lies in making a positive impact within the community – a great fit with our purpose to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation for all.
“Importantly, I want to acknowledge and thank Mark Brownfield for his service, strong leadership, and the advocacy he has displayed for our customers over the past five years. I am pleased that Mark has agreed to support Kate with a smooth transition until the end of the year.”
Prior to joining EnergyAustralia, Ms Gibson led a distinguished 14-year career at ANZ Bank, including as Managing Director Consumer Banking and General Manager Small Business Banking. Preceding ANZ, Ms Gibson spent more than a decade with the Boston Consulting Group, working with major organisations experiencing rapid and significant change in a range of industries including power distribution, financial services, telecommunications, public sector, the not-for-profit sector, airlines, and industrial goods.
