Energy Networks Australia (ENA) has appointed two new Board Directors and a new Chair and Deputy Chair at its AGM in October 2025.

SA Power Networks CEO, Andrew Bills, will take up the top role as Chair of the Board, while Western Power CEO, Sam Barbaro, will become Deputy Chair.

“I am pleased to be elected Chair of the ENA at a time when the role of the network has become even more critical to enabling the energy transition,” Mr Bills said

Transgrid CEO, Brett Redman, and Solstice Energy CEO, Phaedra Deckart, have also joined the ENA board.

Outgoing Chair, Essential Energy CEO, John Cleland, was recognised for his excellent contribution over his two-year tenure and will remain on the Board.

ENA CEO, Dom van den Berg, also thanked outgoing Board Members Powerlink CEO, Professor Paul Simshauser; APA CEO, Adam Watson; and Energy Queensland CEO, Peter Scott.

“The ENA Board has achieved a lot over the past two years and we are grateful to John and our outgoing Board Members for their time and commitment, ” Ms van den Berg said.

“We are excited to build on this momentum with Andrew and our new Board members, as we work together to represent the shared vision and value of energy networks in the energy transition for the benefit of all Australian communities.”
