Melbourne Water has nominated Mr Michael Wandmaker for the position of Managing Director, effective 6 October 2014.
Mr Wandmaker has extensive senior leadership experience across several industries, both in Australia and internationally, including electrical and mechanical engineering, energy, oil, gas, mining, and water, having worked at Sydney Water in the mid-2000s.
Mr Wandmaker was previously CEO of Silcar Maintenance Services, Vice President at Siemens Canada, General Manager at Tyco Services, and held various executive positions at Transfield Holdings. Most recently, Mr Wandmaker was Group President of UGL Limited’s engineering, construction, and maintenance division.
Melbourne Water Chairman Paul Clark said: “Michael has the balance of industry experience, business acumen, strategic ability, and customer focus to lead the organisation through the change program already underway.”

“I also want to thank Paul Pretto, on behalf of the entire board, for the great work he has done as acting managing director since February, steering the organisation through a challenging period of change,” Mr Clark added.
Dr Pretto will assume the role of Executive General Manager Service Delivery.
