WA Water Minister Mia Davies has welcomed the appointment of David Lock to the board of the Water Corporation.

“David brings a wealth of corporate experience to the board and will do an excellent job along with the existing talented and dedicated board members,” Ms Davies said.

David comes to the Water Corporation from the Craig Mostyn Group of which he has been the chief executive officer for the last nine years.  Prior to that, Mr Lock worked at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Sydney, Canada and the United Kingdom.

“David is replacing Karen Field who was appointed to the Water Corporation board in January 2006, and became deputy chairwoman in November 2012,” the Minister said.

“I thank Karen for her work as deputy chairwoman and her commitment to the Water Corporation in the last seven years.”

Mr Tony Iannello, who was appointed to the board in January this year, will replace Ms Field as deputy chairman.

“As the new Minister for Water, I am looking forward to working with David and indeed all the board members at the Water Corporation,” Ms Davies said.

“The board plays an important role providing the corporation’s strategic direction and ensuring its commerciality so it needs appropriately skilled directors.”
