A NSW water utility has taken out two top awards at the Australian Service Excellence Awards held in Sydney in late October 2017.

The Australian Service Excellence Awards are Australia’s premier customer service awards event hosted by the Customer Service Institute of Australia.

The team at Sydney Water took out the most coveted prize, the Best of the Best award, along with the award for Service Excellence in a Medium Contact Centre.

The judges’ Best of the Best decision was based on Sydney Water’s demonstrated first-class passion for customers and staff.

Sydney Water drew praise for the passion with which its contact centre staff approached customer service and each other.

It was also commended for having first-class onboarding of staff, training and development, as well as for its use of innovative digital solutions to exceed customer expectations.

CEO of Customer Service Institute of Australia, Anouche Newman, said there was a record number of nominations in 2017, highlighting the strength and vibrancy of the customer service profession in Australia, which has come a long way since CSIA was formed in 1997.

“The calibre of entries this year was truly outstanding, and we are proud to acknowledge the achievements of the winning organisations and individuals who demonstrate innovation and best practice in the field,” Ms Newman said.

“They are at the forefront of service excellence and absolutely leading the charge”.
