Behind every successful project in the utility space are the skilled team members working behind the scenes, and at Programmed, developing that talent is a top priority.
People are at the heart of everything the company does, and its passionate team is what helps the company make a difference. In recognition of this, the company is celebrating those growing their careers and helping to shape the company’s success.
Programmed pointed to three exceptional members of the West Region Delivery Team – Gill Steele, Jess Morrissey and Jayden Boyd – who support the delivery of a Sydney Water contract, demonstrating just how dedication, curiosity and growth mindset can shape a rewarding career journey.
From admin to finance backbone

Programmed highlighted Ms Steele’s career as a great example of professional evolution. Starting in an administrative role, Ms Steele is now an Accounts Clerk, playing a vital part in supporting major finance operations across the contract. Born and bred in Western Sydney, she brings both local pride and financial insight to her work, helping ensure water and wastewater infrastructure projects run smoothly. The company said her positivity and attention to detail make her a steady and valued presence in the team.
From graduate to project leader

Ms Morrissey joined Programmed as a graduate and quickly found her stride in the Major Periodical Maintenance team. Now a Project Engineer, she leads a diverse range of projects – from two-week tasks to 18-month infrastructure upgrades. Her enthusiasm for learning and her knack for problem-solving have helped Ms Morrissey become an emerging leader on site. With a growing portfolio and a bright future ahead, Programmed said Ms Morrissey is proof that talent and tenacity go hand in hand.
Learning by doing

As a Mechanical Apprentice in Operational Maintenance, Programmed said Mr Boyd is thriving in a hands-on environment. He’s one of 12 apprentices currently in the team, and his proactive attitude and willingness to learn have helped him stand out. From real-world tasks to valuable mentorship from experienced tradespeople, Mr Boyd embraces every challenge and enjoys the fresh air that comes with field work. His journey showcases the strength of Programmed’s apprenticeship pathway.
Programmed said it is proud to empower its people with the tools, trust and guidance they need to thrive.
From Ms Steele’s steady leadership in finance and Ms Morrissey’s growing influence on major works to Mr Boyd’s promising trade career, the company said each team member contributes meaningfully to the success of the Sydney Water contract.
More than individual achievements, their journeys are a reflection of Programmed’s purpose in action: growing great people to power great work.
