The Federal Government has reappointed Dr Ziggy Switkowski AO as the Chair and Non-Executive Director of the nbn board.
Dr Switkowski was reappointed to the position for a further three-year term, commencing on 3 October 2016.
Dr Switkowski, one of Australia’s most distinguished telecommunications executives, previously served as Chief Executive Officer of both Telstra Corporation Limited and Optus Communications.
Federal Minister for Communications Mitch Fifield and Minister for Finance Mathias Cormann congratulated Dr Switkowski on his reappointment and looked forward to his continued leadership of the nbn Board as it guides the project to completion by 2020.
The ministers said the board had transformed the company and achieved a remarkable rate of growth in the rollout.
The nbn is currently available at more than 3.1 million addresses with over 1.3 million people.
