Hall Contracting have commenced pipe laying for the Rubyanna Wastewater Treatment Plant Rising Main.

The contract, valued at $7.4 million, involves the construction of a 5.4km 600mm pressure pipeline that will connect the East Bundaberg Wastewater Treatment Plant to the new Rubyanna Treatment Plant, to be constructed on Rubyanna Road.

The second pipeline, a 2.7km 1,200mm outlet pipeline, to transfer treated effluent, will be constructed from the Rubyanna site to the Burnett River outfall site.

Both pipelines will be constructed in tandem. The rising main and the outfall sewer have been designed to follow the existing road reserve wherever possible.

Works are scheduled for completion by 30 June 2015.
