At their recent 2014 Investor Seminar, Santos revealed plans for further progress in its Narrabri Gas Project, which would see the development of coal seam gas fields in northern New South Wales.
The initial appraisal focuses on a “material reserve sweet spot” which ranges from Goondiwindi on the NSW-Queensland border to Murrurundi in the Upper Hunter.
Santos plans to drill a further seven wells in this area and construct a dedicated pipeline into the NSW market. The initial yield from the project is expected to be 100-140 TJ/day, eventually reaching 200 TJ/day with up to 425 well sets.
Pending the project’s approval, first gas is expected in 2018.
