The Wyong Shire Council, located on the Central Coast of NSW, has awarded a contract for sewer condition assessment and rehabilitation. This comes as part of the Council’s $3.9M investment into the rehabilitation of its sewer network.
Interflow Pty Ltd, was contracted to assess the condition of sewer mains and critical manholes and complete any required restoration works. The contract extends until mid-2017.
The program will rehabilitate and re-line sewer mains and manholes throughout the Shire to ensure the structural integrity, reliability and efficiency of aging sewer pipelines.
Wyong Shire has approximately 1,200km of sewer mains and 23,740 manholes. The most common causes of failure for these assets are blockages of pipes, mainly caused from tree roots.
