The bulk flow meter at the Shepparton WTP (VIC) will be replaced by Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) as part of their asset maintenance program.

GVW Project Supervisor, Ray Russell, said the 800mm flow meter is the Corporation’s largest in the program.

“All drinking water for Shepparton, Congupna, Tallygaroopna and Toolamba passes through this flow meter prior to water being distributed to towns,” said Mr Russell.

The $35,000 asset upgrade will enhance leakage detection and water consumption measurement accuracy.

“Keogh Construction will undertake the work on our behalf, however, GVW operations staff will be on hand to ensure water supply is carefully managed and controlled during the meter changeover,” said Mr Russell.

The works are expected to be take up to 6 hours to complete.
