South East water plans to upgrade around six kilometres of water mains in Bentleigh East, Victoria over the coming months. The $1.4 million project is part of the company’s renewals program aimed at preventing water leaks and bursts.
“The works include upgrading a section of water main between South Road and Centre Road on Warrigal Road – as well as pipes on a number of side streets,” said South East Water’s Acting CEO Dr Hamish Reid.
“Our mission is to deliver a reliable, clean and efficient supply of water to around 1.65 million people and an important part of this commitment is a proactive program of maintenance and renewal similar to an annual health check – we need to keep our pipes in order.”
The Warrigal Road section of the project is expected to be completed by Christmas, with the remainder by February next year.
