Charlie Littlefair has stepped in as the Acting Managing Director of South East Water following the resignation of former Managing Director Kevin Hutchings.

Mr Littlefair joined South East Water in 2008 and has over 30 years experience in the international water and sewer industry.

Mr Hutchings has been with South East Water (SEW) since 1995, when the organisation was only six months old. In a LinkedIn post, Mr Hutchings reflected on his time at South East Water and the innovative approach the organisation has had in the industry.

“Even back then however, when the facsimile ruled and the internet was a baby, I knew I had joined the organisation at the best possible time – I was at the beginning of a fantastic transformation. What I didn’t know was how much fun I would have along the way,” Mr Hutchings said.

“Boldness and innovation were becoming a hallmark in our transformation, and by the time I was Managing Director, South East Water’s willingness to think differently was delivering some fantastic outcomes.

“There are many achievements I am proud of, but none would have been possible without a great team. To be successful, an organisation has to have people that are committed to its strategy, and with the passion to take the organisation to new heights. The South East Water team had those qualities in abundance, which made my role all the more fun.

In the LinkedIn post, Mr Hutchings said he is excited to start a new chapter in his life.

“That’s why I leave the organisation confident that it faces a bright future. Recently, I met with our new graduate intake, and was bowled over by their enthusiasm for our industry, their willingness to learn, and the creativity they were already applying in their roles.

“As many of you know, I’m an optimist. I feel good about the future and also look forward to watching South East Water reach new heights. I wish everyone who works there, now and in the future, the very best,” Mr Hutchings said.

Mr Hutchings last day at South East Water was Friday 3 March 2017.
