Sunwater has appointed a former Queensland Government departmental head and experienced board director as interim Chairman of the Board.
Dan Hunt has been appointed in the position.
Queensland Treasurer and Minister for Investment, Cameron Dick, said Mr Hunt brought extensive experience within the Queensland public sector to the role.
“Mr Hunt served as the Chair of Seqwater for three years and spent an extended period as Director-General of the department overseeing water policy in the state,” Mr Dick said.
“His appointment will provide valuable support and leadership to the Board, until a permanent replacement is announced.”
Mr Hunt is currently Chairman of the Granite Belt Water and is an independent member of the Audit Committee for Logan City Council.
Mr Hunt has been appointed as interim Chairman to replace Leith Boully, who stepped down from the role on 28 February 2021.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Ms Boully for the service she has provided to Sunwater over more than five years,” Mr Dick said.
Sunwater is a Queensland Government-owned water service provider operating 19 dams, 64 weirs and barrages, and 2,100km of pipelines to store, capture and deliver water to 5,000 customers across Queensland.
