B&R Enclosures has been recognised as a leading supply partner servicing the Australian telecommunications market after taking out the coveted 2014 NBN Co Chairman’s Award for Supplier Excellence and Innovation.

This prestigious award was awarded to B&R recognising the company for its outstanding business conduct, world class design innovation, engineering excellence, supply reliability and consistent high quality.

Greg Adcock, NBN Co Chief Operations Officer said, “I congratulate B&R on winning NBN Co Chairman’s Award for Supplier Excellence and Innovation for 2014. This family-owned Australian company’s innovation solution supports the National Broadband Network‘s objective to deliver broadband faster, sooner and more cost effectively. “

Ken Bridges, Managing Director of B&R Enclosures said, “This award belongs to everybody at B&R that has worked with great diligence and commitment to understand the needs and expectations of NBN Co.  Managing highly complex projects and supply demands, whilst maintaining technical performance were fundamental to meeting those expectations.”

Since the NBN rollout began in 2011, B&R has supplied Common Network Infrastructure (CNI) racks for Fibre Access Nodes, Aggregation Nodes and Points of Interconnect in NBN Co’s Transit Network.

This was followed by a competitive tender for the design and manufacture of an enclosure for the housing of the network termination device and power supply to be installed in customer premises.

The project required B&R to undertake extensive research into the needs of installers and home owners to provide an innovative, visually appealing, small enclosure that met demanding specifications for temperature control, cable management, as well as ease of access and safety.

As a proud Australian, family-owned company, capability in design innovation, engineering and supply chain management excellence is core to B&R’s success.  Our risk-weighted, entrepreneurial approach to continually investing in people skills, business capability and world class innovative manufacturing technology has been essential for meeting the demanding requirements of NBN Co.

“While a challenging formula to achieve in today’s globalised market place, the NBN Co award should inspire confidence in the strength, capability and cost competitiveness of Australian manufacturing,” Mr Bridges concluded.
