Recycling soil and organic waste from construction sites has huge environmental and economical benefits – however, wet conditions can make repurposing valuable resources more difficult.
When wet, clumped soil began disrupting the performance of his Terex Ecotec Trommel, Soil Recycling Co. Director, Chris Keay, knew a more effective solution was needed.
Clogged hoppers, frequent cleaning, and excessive downtime were hampering operations. Attempts to resolve the issue with outdated screening technology only made inefficiencies worse.
Seeking a better approach, Mr Keay connected with ALLU Area Sales Manager, Sami Rahman, who recommended the ALLU DN 2-12 with TS 25 Axe blades. A live demonstration – led by Walkers Hammers, Service Technician Carlo Costanzo – showcased the bucket’s capabilities.
Despite persistent rain leaving the soil waterlogged, the ALLU bucket’s anti-clogging, self-cleaning TS drum setup handled the material efficiently, improving processing flow and reducing the need for constant cleaning. The results were immediate – soil processing capacity increased by 12 per cent per day, significantly cutting downtime and boosting productivity.
Impressed by its performance, Mr Keay decided to rent the bucket for continued use.
Enhancing efficiency
To maximise productivity, the team later upgraded to TS 50 blades, designed to break down larger soil clumps more effectively. Walkers Hammers facilitated the blade swap, delivering the bucket back the next day, ready for action.
With the ALLU bucket in operation, Soil Recycling Co. Said it has transformed its screening process – reducing inefficiencies, increasing output and ensuring optimal performance for sustainable soil recycling.
