TasNetworks has appointed a new non-executive Director to its board following the retirement of directors Mervyn Davies and Don Challen.
Peter McIntyre was appointed to the position for a three-year term. Mr McIntyre was previously the Managing Director of TransGrid for the past six years
TasNetworks Chairman, Dr Dan Norton AO, said Mr McIntyre brings a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise.
“Prior to that he held several executive positions, with responsibilities including regulatory strategy, revenue reset, customer engagement, asset management, network planning and system operations.
“Mr McIntyre also brings considerable experience from his previous appointments as Deputy Chairman of the Energy Networks Association, Chairman of Grid Australia and Deputy Chairman of the Australian Power Institute.
“The learnings Mr McIntyre has taken from his past appointments will be a great asset to TasNetworks, as we head in to our third year of operations.”
Mervyn Davies was appointed a Director of the TasNetworks Board in 2013 and was previously a Director of Aurora Energy. While Don Challen was appointed a Director of the TasNetworks Board in 2014 and was previously a Director and Chairman of Transend Networks.
“Along with the efforts of TasNetworks team members across the business, the many achievements and strong financial results posted in TasNetworks 2015-16 Annual Report speak to the leadership of TasNetworks’ Board,” Dr Norton said.
