Tender: HV electrical works

Eagle Downs Coal is seeking suitably accredited sub-contractors for HV electrical packages to the Eagle Downs Coal Project in Queensland.

The HV electrical package consists of a number of sub-packages for which the electrical contractor will be responsible for supplying, installing and commissioning, including:

  • 22kV switchroom
  • 132kV switchyard complete with all outdoor switchgear and structures
  • 132/22/11kV HV transformers
  • 22/0.440kV LV transformers
  • 22/0.440 kV ring main units
  • HV and LV cabling and terminations
  • Site-wide overhead powerlines

The package is based on a design and construct contract that includes design, manufacture, factory acceptance testing, vendor documentation, delivery to site, installation and commissioning of all the items listed above.

About the project:

The Eagle Downs Coal Project is located in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, adjacent to, and immediately down dip from, the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance operating Peak Downs Coal Mine.

The Project involves construction, development and operation of an underground longwall hard coking coal mine, Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) and associated infrastructure over an estimated mine life of 47 years for all target seams. The target seams for the project include the Harrow Creek Upper, Harrow Creek Lower and Dysart seams.
