The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (VIC) is seeking tenders for the procurement of large-scale generation certificates (LGCs) from new solar projects in Victoria.
Through this initiative, the government aims to:
- Bring forward investment in new renewable solar energy projects in Victoria by procuring up to 152,000 LGCs per annum commencing no later than 31 October 2018
- Promote job creation and economic development in regional Victoria where renewable energy projects are located
- Promote investor confidence in Victoria’s renewable energy sector
The state is seeking to enter into an LGC Sale and Purchase Agreement/s with the successful tenderer/s, to meet its effective certificate obligation and for the solar trams initiative.
