TransGrid has announced that it has appointed a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to its executive team, with the role commencing on 4 March 2019.
TransGrid’s new CFO, Jason Conroy, was previously CFO at energy utility operator DUET Group for nine years and most recently served as Chief Executive Officer at MMJ Group Holdings Limited. As part of his role at DUET, Mr Conroy successfully co-led a significant transformation through mergers and acquisitions, recapitalisations and restructuring.
TransGrid Chief Executive Officer, Paul Italiano, said Mr Conroy’s energy industry experience would play a critical role in the organisation’s future at a time of significant and dynamic change across the energy sector.
“Jason brings a wealth of experience across capital markets, investment and corporate finance. His knowledge of the energy industry and utilities is an ideal fit for TransGrid as we continue to respond to technological change and consumer expectations,” Mr Italiano said.
“TransGrid is directly focused on delivering safe, reliable electricity to consumers while also minimising our contribution to everyday energy bills. I am delighted to welcome Jason to the TransGrid team and look forward to working with him.”
Mr Conroy said, “The energy sector has an impact on every Australian household and business. Joining TransGrid is an exciting opportunity for me to make an important contribution and it’s a pivotal time to be returning to the sector.”
