TransGrid has announced that it has appointed Eva Hanly to its Executive team as Executive Manager of Strategy, Innovation and Technology.

Ms Hanly joins TransGrid from Transurban Group, where she was General Manager, NSW and General Manager, Development. Ms Hanly was also previously General Manager, Commercial at Origin Energy.

TransGrid CEO, Paul Italiano, said Ms Hanly would play a critical role in driving future-focused thinking as the pace of change in the energy sector intensifies.

“Eva’s blend of engineering and commercial experience is an ideal fit for TransGrid as the entire energy industry continues to respond to technological change and consumer behaviours which are revolutionising the way we generate, transport and use electricity,” said Mr Italiano.

“TransGrid is committed to developing new services to help deliver safe, reliable electricity to consumers while also delivering savings in everyday energy bills. I am delighted to welcome Eva to the TransGrid team and look forward to working with her.”

Aside from roles at Transurban and Origin, Ms Hanly has held leadership positions at some of Australia’s leading construction and infrastructure companies including Thiess, Brookfield Multiplex, Bilfinger Berger Services (now Lend Lease) and Worley Parsons.

She holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Engineering and BA (International Relations/Public Policy) from the University of New South Wales.

Lauren ‘LJ’ Butler is the Assistant Editor of Utility magazine and has been part of the team at Monkey Media since 2018.

After completing a Bachelor of Media, Communications and Professional Writing at the University of Wollongong in 2014, and prior to writing about the utility sector, LJ worked as a Journalist and Sub Editor across the horticulture, hardware, power equipment, construction and accommodation industries with publishers such as Glenvale Publications, Multimedia Publishing and Bean Media Group.
